Disfellowshipped from Bethel??
by gma-tired2 inmy question is it harder to be reinstated if you were disfellowshipped while at bethel.
i have someone who i worry about because of fear what he might do?
he has been denied at least twice even though he goes to all meeting and has tried so hard..

Thank you, everyone, for your honest, heart-felt replies.
I have survived, one year out, knowing TTATT.
I can see it so plainly, now.
It is wonderful, to know, we have a future...of our own choosing.
If I plant a tree, I can keep enjoying it in 20 years. As a JW, I felt so frustrated, as in, what was the point of doing anything, besides pioneering, because everything is going to be destroyed...and being guilted , to open your mouth at "every opportunity" because "you don't want to be blood guilty , do you"?
I wonder when the Elders appointed to be the Financial advisors for the Watch Tower Society, go to their stock holders meetings, do they preach to their fellow attendees? I rather think not. It's a farce. Getting rid of feeling guilty...not commenting, not going to meetings, not going d2d, not "preaching to everyone you meet" like a megatron idiot. (Carry a small Bible in your purse or school bag. Read your literature in public places. Be ready to make a defense of your faith, at every opportunity) . What a relief to be done with all that stupidity. With all the flip flops in "solid" for the moment doctrine, I was doubting my own sanity. I thought we absolutely, couldn't have transplants...became...if you need one, have one. I thought we absolutely, couldn't have blood transfusions. Blood was wrong. Now, its ...if you need blood fractions, have blood fraction. Armageddon is absolutely so close, work for us for free, don't even think about getting an education... blaw , blaw , blaw , blaw , blaw .
What stupid, stupid drudgery, they kept us under. No more!

i'm finishing the junior year of my engineering degree and the classes are hard as hell.
i used to be among the smartest students in the room until i hit the 300 level university courses.

Local needs talk
by hoser inone of the elders was missing his service bag and suspected that one of the publishers stole it.
he was determined to root out who did it so he decided to give a local needs part on the ten commandments focusing on you must not steal.. he enlisted the help of a trusted ministerial servant and got him to stand at the back of the kingdom hall during the part.
he told the ms that he would read off the ten commandments and when he got to the one "you must not steal" he would pause longer than usual and see if anyone acted nervous or suspicious.

I'm new here

i'm in my late teens, grew up in it, and got out of the society's regime by the skin of my teeth.
nearly go baptized because i firmly did believe it was the "truth" but because of a gut feeling that held me back, that i almost ignored, i didn't sign my blood to big brother.

As you mentioned...they have a "thing" for David. It has made me wonder the purpose of this. He was an adulterer, liar, schemer , murderer but... god used him.
Is the GB using him as an example, today, so that high up Elders feel free to be pedophiles...and or cover up pedophiles in the congregation?
Is The Watch Tower Society using the example of "King" David, to allow disfellowing offences for Elders, to be forgotten and swept under the rug?
I think it was posted, from the Elders Secret Hand Book, that if an Elder allows 3 years to go by, and no one has made an issue about this secret sin, that it shows they have god's approval and blessing.
David lied and intentionally had Uriah murdered, after befriending him, and getting his "friend's wife" pregnant. Little guys in the rank and file get DF. Same thing?
